Anees Ahmad, MD.

CEO AND FOUNDER

Dr. Anees Ahmad is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician and the founder of WNY House Physician, PLLC, a home-based primary care practice dedicated to serving older adults throughout Western New York. With nearly three decades of medical experience spanning multiple healthcare settings, Dr. Ahmad has devoted his career to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care while advancing innovative models of healthcare delivery.

Dr. Ahmad earned his medical degree from Allama Iqbal Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan, in 1996. After practicing medicine in Pakistan for several years, he immigrated to the United States in 2001. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Saint Vincent Catholic Medical Center in Staten Island, New York, in 2005, and is board certified in Internal Medicine.

From 2002 to 2010, Dr. Ahmad practiced medicine in upstate New York before relocating to Buffalo. Between 2010 and 2021, he served as a hospitalist at Mercy Hospital of Buffalo and Buffalo General Medical Center, where he gained extensive experience caring for hospitalized patients with complex medical conditions.

Recognizing the growing need for accessible, personalized healthcare for older adults, Dr. Ahmad founded WNY House Physician, PLLC, in 2020. The practice specializes in home-based primary care for patients aged 65 and older, bringing comprehensive medical services directly to patients in the comfort of their homes. Through this innovative model, Dr. Ahmad strives to improve health outcomes, enhance quality of life, reduce healthcare costs, minimize unnecessary hospitalizations, and increase patient satisfaction. His long-term vision is to expand access to home-based primary care throughout the region.

Throughout his career, Dr. Ahmad has built extensive experience across a broad spectrum of healthcare environments, including home-based primary care, inpatient and outpatient medicine, academic medicine, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and community health centers. He also serves as volunteer faculty at the University at Buffalo, where he mentors residents and medical students in the principles and practice of home-based patient care.

Beyond his clinical work, Dr. Ahmad is deeply committed to leadership and community service. He currently serves as Vice Chair of the Nardin Academy High School Parents’ Association and has previously served as Secretary and Treasurer. His leadership roles at Nardin Academy have also included serving on the President Selection Committee, Chairing the 2026 Nardin Academy Gala, and leading the Leadership Council.

Dr. Ahmad has also contributed to numerous professional and civic organizations. His service includes participation on the Membership Committee and Sub-Membership Committee of the Country Club of Buffalo, recognition as a Cogent CHAMP for the Northeast Region. Within the American College of Physicians (ACP), he has served on both the Political Action Committee (PAC) and the Ethics Committee. Additionally, he has served on the Mercy Hospital, Buffalo’s Palliative Care Committee, reflecting his commitment to improving quality of care for patients with serious illnesses.

Outside of medicine and community leadership, Dr. Ahmad enjoys an active lifestyle. His interests include golf, tennis, swimming, clay shooting, bowling, and hunting. He is also an avid reader and enjoys traveling with family and friends.
